Clean and feed leather instead of replacing it

Leather does not get dirty the way fabric does – it dries out: it goes dull, shiny on the armrests and develops fine cracks. We clean leather gently, put the oils back and protect the surface, which often keeps a sofa alive for years longer.

Clean, feed, protect – in that order

The most common damage comes from the wrong care: all-purpose cleaners, wet wipes or too much water dissolve the pigment layer. We identify the type of leather first – aniline absorbs, pigmented does not – and match product and moisture to it.

After cleaning comes the conditioning: leather is skin and needs oil, otherwise it cracks where it bends. Finally we protect the surface on request so denim dye and grease do not soak straight in. Cracks and worn-off colour we can clean and feed, but not replace – that needs a saddler.

Frequently asked questions

Leather Cleaning & Care – FAQ

What does leather cleaning cost?

We charge per seat. A three-seater including conditioning is a mid three-figure amount; send photos for the fixed price.

Do dark denim marks come out?

On pigmented leather usually yes, on pale aniline only partly – there the dye goes into the fibre. We tell you what is realistic beforehand.

How long does the treatment last?

One to two years with normal use. After that a refresh is usually enough, without a full clean.
